The brief.

Whiskey cask investment is one of the fastest-growing alternative asset classes in the world. It is also one of the least trusted. The market has been defined by cold-calling brokers, inflated valuations, hidden storage and exit fees, and “paper promises” with no verifiable ownership behind them. For a serious investor, the category looked less like an opportunity and more like a minefield.

Whiskey Investments came to us with a clear ambition: build the world’s first fully digital, fully transparent platform for investing in real Irish whiskey casks, and make it feel less like buying whiskey and more like investing through a modern financial platform. The benchmark was Stripe, Revolut and Wealthify, not a traditional whiskey merchant or a broker website. There was no existing brand, no website, and no design language. The entire venture had to be built from zero.

We built it from scratch. Using Claude Design for the brand identity and Claude Code for web development, we created the Whiskey Investments brand and platform end to end: a fintech-grade identity system, a conversion-led one-page website, and an interactive cask calculator that lets investors size an order, see their volume discount fall away in real time, and reserve with a 10% deposit. Every decision, from the geometric cask logo and the navy-and-teal palette to the reservation flow and the compliance disclaimers, was engineered to do one thing the category had never done: earn trust on first impression.

The platform is built around a single, transparent product, the Great Northern Distillery AB2 Single Malt cask, from £2,000, bonded and insured in Ireland, backed by Ireland’s largest independent distillery. No catalogue, no salespeople, no hidden costs. And every page scores 100 across all four Google Lighthouse categories: Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO.

What we set out to do

  • Build the Whiskey Investments brand identity from zero, a documented “Future-Led” design language covering the faceted cask logo, colour palette, typography hierarchy and component system, establishing a fintech-grade, trustworthy positioning in a category dominated by brokers and brochure sites.
  • Reframe whiskey cask investment as a modern financial product, designing a digital experience closer to Stripe, Revolut and Wealthify than to a traditional whiskey merchant, so that a first-time investor feels informed and in control rather than sold to.
  • Design and develop Whiskey Investments as a single, conversion-led page built around the world’s first dedicated whiskey cask calculator, taking a visitor from curiosity to a reserved allocation without a single sales call.
  • Build an interactive cask calculator that sizes orders by the crate, applies live volume discounts across six tiers, and projects an illustrative future value, updating instantly with no page refresh.
  • Establish trust through transparency, surfacing verifiable ownership, the Great Northern Distillery partnership, 5-year insured bonded storage and a non-refundable 10% reservation deposit clearly, above the fold and in plain English.
  • Meet UK advertising standards, building ASA/CAP-compliant risk disclaimers and a downloadable Cask Investment Guide into the experience from the outset, not as an afterthought.
  • Achieve a perfect Google Lighthouse score across Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO, building technical excellence into the platform from the ground up.
  • Demonstrate a new standard for AI-powered brand and web delivery, using Claude Design and Claude Code to produce agency-quality creative and a production-grade build at speed.

What changed

  • Delivered the complete Whiskey Investments brand identity, a faceted cask logomark, a disciplined fintech palette of bonded navy, cask teal (#33B6B1) and copper orange, a bold geometric display face paired with a clean body sans, and a full component system, designed entirely in Claude Design.
  • Launched Whiskey Investments, a fully responsive, SEO-optimised, conversion-led platform designed with Claude Design and built with Claude Code, positioned as the world’s first dedicated whiskey investment platform.
  • Achieved a perfect 100/100 Google Lighthouse score across Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO, a technically flawless site on every measurable metric from day one.
  • Built the interactive cask calculator: a crate-based slider (from £2,000 per cask, sold by the crate of six) with six live volume-discount tiers from Investor (−2.5%) to Apex (−15%), a deposit calculation and an illustrative holding-period projection, all updating in real time.
  • Created the “Why we exist” trust architecture, a side-by-side of the broken cask market versus the Whiskey Investments way, turning the category’s biggest weakness into the brand’s strongest selling point.
  • Transferred trust from the distillery to the platform, with a dedicated Great Northern Distillery section evidencing Ireland’s largest independent distillery, the Cooley and Kilbeggan pedigree of its founders, and 500,000+ casks maturing in bond.
  • Shipped a compliance-ready experience, with capital-at-risk and “not regulated in the UK” disclaimers built in, a downloadable 2026 Cask Investment Guide, and a self-service reservation flow that collects investor details and KYC before any deposit is taken.

How we
did it.

6 steps, from the first conversation to the results.

  1. Brand discovery and market positioning

We began by mapping the whiskey cask investment category and the precise reasons investors distrust it: cold-calling brokers, inflated valuations, hidden fees, unclear ownership and a complete absence of digital-first platforms. We mapped the target investor, from the cautious wealth-builder to the globally-minded entrepreneur, and the moment of doubt each one hits before committing.

This discovery phase set the creative brief: a brand that does the opposite of everything the category does. Calm, transparent, evidenced and digital-first, built to feel like a fintech platform, not a whiskey sales floor. The positioning line that anchored everything: the future of whiskey investing.

  2. Brand identity system (Claude Design)

Using Claude Design, we created the Whiskey Investments identity from scratch. At its centre is a faceted cask logomark, a whiskey barrel constructed from geometric shards in the brand palette, signalling craft heritage and digital precision at once.

    • The palette is a disciplined fintech system: a deep bonded navy as the foundation, cask teal (#33B6B1) as the signature accent, a copper orange for calls to action and a violet highlight drawn from the logo facets, high-contrast, modern and a deliberate world away from the gold-and-tartan clichés of the category.
    • Typography pairs a bold geometric display face for headlines with a clean, highly legible sans for body copy, governed by a clear hierarchy that keeps long-form investment content easy to read.
    • A reusable component system, stat tiles, trust chips, comparison cards, the calculator and FAQ accordions, was designed so every section reinforces the same calm, credible tone.
  3. Website architecture and conversion strategy

Before a single section was designed, we mapped the one-page architecture around a single goal: take a sceptical first-time visitor and move them, step by step, from curiosity to a reserved allocation.

The flow was built to educate before it asks: a fintech hero with a live mini-calculator, a “Why we exist” trust section confronting the broken market head-on, the case for whiskey as a tangible asset, a simple six-step “how it works”, the full calculator as the centre of gravity, the AB2 cask detail, the Great Northern Distillery trust transfer, and an FAQ closing out ownership, storage, resale, risk and tax. The primary call to action, reserve casks, and the secondary download the guide were repeated at every natural decision point.

  4. Website and calculator design (Claude Design)

With the brand system and architecture confirmed, Claude Design was used to translate the identity into a fully responsive website, with the interactive cask calculator as the hero feature.

    • The calculator was designed like a fintech savings tool: a crate slider (orders rise in crates of six, from a one-crate minimum), a live order value, six volume-discount tiers, the 10% deposit due today and an illustrative future-value projection, all visible at a glance.
    • Trust architecture was embedded above the fold: verifiable ownership, 5-year insured bonded storage, the GND partnership and “reserve with just a 10% deposit” surface immediately, before the visitor has to scroll.
    • The “Why we exist” comparison was designed as the emotional turning point, the cask market today versus the Whiskey Investments way, converting the category’s reputation problem into the brand’s proof point.
    • Every screen was designed mobile-first, preserving the full calculator experience and trust signals on a phone.
  5. Web development (Claude Code)

Claude Code was used to build the entire platform from the approved designs, producing a clean, fast, production-ready codebase.

    • The interactive calculator was built to update instantly with no page refresh, recalculating crates, casks, discount tier, order value, deposit and projected value live as the investor moves the slider.
    • The site was built mobile-first and fully responsive, holding the brand system and conversion flow together across every screen size.
    • Performance was engineered in, not bolted on: optimised assets, efficient markup and disciplined scripting delivered sub-second loads and a flawless technical baseline.

The build was verified against Google Lighthouse on launch. Whiskey Investments scored 100 across all four categories, Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO, from day one, with no remedial work required post-launch.

  6. Content, compliance and launch

With the platform built, we delivered the full content layer in the Whiskey Investments brand voice: clear, evidenced and jargon-free, with every claim qualified and nothing oversold.

    • All investment copy was written to ASA/CAP standards, with capital-at-risk and “whiskey cask investment is not regulated in the UK” disclaimers placed where they belong, visible, not buried in the small print.
    • A downloadable 2026 Cask Investment Guide was produced to capture and nurture investors who aren’t ready to reserve on the first visit.
    • The reservation flow was structured to collect investor details and KYC before any payment, with the non-refundable 10% deposit clearly explained and acknowledged at checkout.
    • An illustrative future-value model, referencing the Knight Frank Wealth Report, was built into the calculator with clear “past performance is not a guide to future returns” framing.
