So for over a decade we’ve put the peer voice to work in UK schools and colleges. Today it powers Peerscroller, 800+ short PSHE videos presented by young people, and Yipiyap Aspire, the course that trains your older students to tutor.

What We Do
Two Ways to Put the Peer Voice to Work
Pick the one that fits your role, or bring in both. Either way, your learners hear it from someone they can relate to.
For PSHE, Pastoral, Safeguarding and Personal Development Leads
PSHE Your Learners Will Actually Watch
800+ bite-sized videos on PSHE, wellbeing and study skills, from Key Stage 2 to post-16, presented by relatable young role models and fact-checked by our writing team.
Play a starter in a PSHE lesson or form time
Support in learners’ pockets with the iOS and Android app
Assign videos to a class or a single learner
See which topics your learners are watching
Start free with the Basic Package. Full library from £1.50 per learner a year.
Swipe or tap the arrows to scroll the topics, just like your learners do.
Peerscroller
PSHE That Speaks Their Language
Your learners already learn from short videos. Peerscroller meets them there, with a trustworthy feed of PSHE, wellbeing and study skills videos presented by young people they’ll actually listen to.
New RSHE guidance has applied since September 2026, and Ofsted now reports on personal development and wellbeing in its own right. Peerscroller’s mapping tools link every video to the PSHE Association Programme of Study and DfE RSHE guidance.
In-Class Starters
Spark debate in PSHE lessons and form time. Staff play videos from the web portal on any device.
Support in Their Pocket
Learners, and their parents, scroll recommended videos or search for a topic in the app.
Respond Fast
Assign a video to a class or one learner as part of your graduated response. Log a concern on CPOMS and relevant videos are recommended to you.
Spot the Trends
Your dashboard shows the most-viewed topics and videos by year group, so you can shape PSHE around what learners want to know.
Not Social Media. Still Seriously Scrollable.
Learners can’t contact each other or upload anything. Every video is made in-house and fact-checked by Yipiyap.
No phones needed in school: staff play videos in class from the Teacher Portal, and learners use the app at home.
Designed around the PSHE Association curriculum, the ICO Age Appropriate Design Code and Keeping Children Safe in Education, with data hosted in the UK.
Expert packs made with organisations including Childline, Papyrus and the Molly Rose Foundation.

“Peerscroller has strengthened our tutorial offer, supported staff with high quality digital content, and helped embed important personal development themes in a way that feels relevant and engaging for FE learners.”
“Peerscroller videos open up discussions and all themes are relevant to year groups. Even students who are absent with illness access Peerscroller for support and knowledge.”
“Peerscroller is a resource we can mine for relevant videos to accompany sessions, helping us bring topics like positive thinking and study skills to life in tutorials.”
“Peerscroller has made it easier for students to support each other and access their need-to-know questions by creating a safe space, open environment and a go-to for any PSHE related topics.”
Former Yipiyap tutors kept telling us the same thing: tutoring was a crash course in the skills they still use at work. So we turned our tutor training into a digital course for sixth form and college students.
Skill Up
Communication, leadership, teamwork, emotional intelligence and metacognition.
Stand Out
A certificate, a stronger CV or UCAS application, and a way to earn from tutoring.
Inspire Others
Your school or college gains a squad of trained peer tutors to support other learners.
Former Yipiyap peer tutor Jenn guides learners through every module, in videos no longer than a couple of minutes.
Module 1 of 5 · About an hour
Getting to Know You
What kind of tutor are you? Learners rate themselves on the five core skills, then explore how their personality and values shape the way they’ll teach.
Activity: explore the conditions that need to be in place for learning to happen.
Module 2 of 5 · About an hour
Teaching and Learning
Pedagogy and metacognition, made practical: how the brain learns, how to engage a learner and how to plan a session. It makes them better learners as well as better tutors.
Modules 2, 3 and 4 end with a short quiz. It’s optional, so a lesson never overruns.
Module 3 of 5 · About an hour
Selling Yourself
Entrepreneurial thinking for any career: how to position yourself, communicate your value and open the door to tutoring work in the holidays, on a gap year or at university.
Who do we trust, and how do we earn that trust? Module 4 in action.
Module 4 of 5 · About an hour
Professional Skills
Safeguarding and data protection: how learners keep themselves and the people they tutor safe, and how to show others they can be trusted.
The skills re-assessment: Module 1 ratings side by side with Module 5.
Module 5 of 5 · About an hour
The Pitch
Learners pitch their tutoring business to the group and vote for the most convincing. Then they re-rate their skills to see how far they’ve come, and plan what to work on next.
Easy to Run, Even on a Busy Timetable
Each module fits a one-hour lesson, and quizzes are optional if you’re close to the bell
A digital Teacher Guide covers engaging learners, timetabling and every module
Follow each learner’s progress in the online Teacher Portal
Bonus content for learners who want more, including using Aspire on a CV or UCAS application

Our Story
Peer Learning Pioneers Since 2012
In 2012, former maths teacher Anne Morris, now our CEO, read a report on poor numeracy in the UK and spotted an under-appreciated pool of talent: bright gap-year students with a passion for their subject and time on their hands.
Peer learning was almost unheard of back then. It worked. Learners gained confidence, autonomy and a love of learning, and our tutors gained a head start on their careers.
2012Founded by a former maths teacher, still based in Altrincham
Hundredsof schools and colleges supported by Yipiyap
Tens of Thousandsof learners inspired by a relatable role model

2012–2025
The Win-Win-Win
Hundreds of schools and colleges, tens of thousands of learners, and hundreds of young people starting their careers as Yipiyap tutors.
2020
Yipiyap Goes Digital
As a National Tutoring Programme approved partner, we kept learners supported through lockdown with live and recorded online tuition.
2023
Yipiyap Aspire Launches
Our tutor training becomes Train to Tutor, a digital course for sixth form and college students.
2024
Peerscroller Launches
Schools asked for pastoral support, so we turned the magic of peer mentoring into short PSHE videos.
2025
Tutors Hang Up Their Ties
In-school tutoring ends in September 2025 and Train to Tutor 2.0 arrives. Our belief in the peer voice hasn’t changed one bit.
Ever wondered about the name? Yipiyap stands for Young Inspiring People Inspiring Young Aspiring People. The peer voice has been in it from day one.
Win, Win, Win
Everything we do has to be a win for everybody involved. It’s been our rule since day one.
Learners Win
They hear it from someone a few steps ahead, in a language they understand.
Young People Win
Our presenters and peer tutors build real skills and a career head start.
Schools Win
Engaging, curriculum-ticking support at a price that works for education budgets.
Not since September 2025. Funding pressures across education, and schools telling us that what they needed most from peer mentors was pastoral support, led us to focus on Peerscroller and Yipiyap Aspire. Both carry the same peer voice at a more accessible price.
Which Age Groups Is Peerscroller For?
Key Stage 2 right through to post-16. Primary content arrived in September 2025, and there are dedicated collections for primary, Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and college learners, covering the breadth of the PSHE Association Programme of Study.
Do Learners Need Phones in School?
No. Peerscroller isn’t social media and doesn’t need phones in school. Staff play videos in lessons or form time through the Teacher Portal, and learners and parents can use the free iOS and Android app at home with your school’s six-digit code.
Is Peerscroller Safe for Our Learners?
Yes, that’s the whole idea. Learners can’t contact each other or upload their own content, and every video is made in-house and fact-checked by Yipiyap. The app is designed around the PSHE Association curriculum, the ICO’s Age Appropriate Design Code and Keeping Children Safe in Education. Data is hosted in the UK, and a DPIA is available on request.
How Much Does Peerscroller Cost?
The Basic Package is free and includes 150+ core videos. The Standard Package unlocks the full library for £1.50 per learner on roll each year, from £250 a year, paid monthly by direct debit, and the cost can be shared across budgets.
How Long Does Train to Tutor Take?
Five modules, each designed to fit a one-hour lesson, with optional quizzes and bonus content. Learners can work through it together in class or on their own at home, and everyone who completes it receives a certificate.
