Our Story
A Brewery Beside a Moated Hall
St Peter’s Brewery began in 1996 in the old farm buildings beside St Peter’s Hall, a Grade II* listed manor house on a moated site in the village of St Peter South Elmham, deep in the countryside near Bungay.

The Hall
Historic England lists the hall at Grade II*. Its medieval traceried windows are thought to have come from the Augustinian nunnery at nearby Flixton after the Dissolution.
The Water
Every St Peter’s beer is brewed with water from our own deep borehole, filtered through the chalk beneath the brewery.
The Bottle
Our oval 500ml bottle is based on an 18th-century gin bottle from Gibbstown, on the Delaware River near Philadelphia.
Read the Mark
Every part of our logo means something.
The Barrel
The shape around the raven is a barrel, the way beer has always been kept.
The Raven
A symbol of the Vikings, who raided this corner of Suffolk; moats like ours were dug in part to keep raiders out.
The Key
The keys of Saint Peter, who gives the village and the brewery their name.
