Your roof, designed and made in Ardboe.

Quinn Truss has designed and made roofs since 1993. Send your plans and our design team works out every truss, the calculations and the materials list, then our own crane lorries bring them to site when you need them.

Standard roof trusses

The everyday roof, made off site. Up to 40% less timber than a traditional cut roof, with less waste and less time on site.

Attic trusses

Rooms in the roof from the start. Roofing with attic trusses can be up to five times faster than a cut roof, and the space is there for life.

Slab trusses

Attic space over a concrete floor slab. Quinn Truss re-engineered the standard truss to work with a slab, giving the same space as an attic truss within Building Control rules.

Rounded trusses

Barrel and bowstring roofs for the traditional barn look, built to Building Control requirements.

Passive trusses

A warm roof for passive house builds, with specially engineered supports and adjusted eaves and rafter depths for more insulation and airtightness.

Feature trusses and purlins

Exposed trusses handmade by our craftsmen in redwood, pine, oak, iroko or Douglas fir, with hidden joints, steel plates or exposed bolts, and approved by our structural engineer.

Open-web joists

Timber chords with steel webs for longer spans, and services that run straight through the floor without drilling or notching.

Questions we get asked.

Do you supply roof trusses to private customers as well as builders?

Yes. Quinn Truss makes roofs for homes and for large commercial buildings, for trade and private customers alike. We design the whole roof from your plans, with the calculations and materials list it needs. Send your plans through the form or call 028 8673 7655 and our design team will take it from there. Self-builders can also apply for a personal account.

What do you need from me to price a roof?

Your plans or elevations are the best starting point, because we design the whole roof in CAD from them, to your specification. Attach them to the enquiry form as a PDF or image, or email them to info@quinnbuildingsupplies.com. If you do not have plans yet, tell us about the building and we will explain what we need. Include the site address so we can plan delivery.

Do you deliver?

Yes. We run our own fleet, so we can coordinate several deliveries a day and bring trusses and roofing materials to site together. Our lorries carry hi-ab cranes, which are cranes mounted on the lorry itself, as well as stepped-frame trailers and mountable forklifts for off-loading. Quinn Truss delivers throughout Ireland and the UK. Delivery terms for materials are on the Delivery and Returns page.

Can I buy at the counter, or do I need an account?

We supply trade and DIY customers alike, and you are welcome at the yard in Ardboe. If you buy regularly, you can apply for a self-build or personal account, or a business account, using the forms on this page. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm and Saturday 9am to 12:30pm. Our door showroom is on site, so you can see doors and handles together before you buy.

Is your timber graded and treated?

Yes. We import and machine all commonly used structural timber grades, including C16, C24 and TR26, and grade it in our own CATG-licensed facility. Timber is kiln dried, and our Protim vacuum treatment system protects against dry rot, woodworm and wet rot fungi. Our timber comes from FSC and PEFC approved sources, with the chain of custody available on request.

Can you make a moulding to my own design?

Yes. We use CAD software to design timber mould profiles to your design or template, then machine them at the yard. Our stock range includes architraves, skirting, panel moulds and handrails, plus weatherboard, shiplap and log cabin cladding. Some moulds can also be machined in sizes other than those in our timber mould brochure. Speak to our mould design team, or attach your drawing to the enquiry form.
