Pick the month your policy renews

Longfields never lets a policy renew automatically. Before your renewal date, your account manager reviews the cover with you, at your premises or by phone, and checks it against the insurers on our panel, so you stay on the right cover at a competitive price.

What we insure, and who looks after it

Your account manager visits, arranges the cover and stays with you, from the first meeting to the renewal review and any claim in between.

Farms and estates

We don’t just understand insurance; we know farming too. Jill Girling was born into a farming family, and Mark Whyman has insured farms and estates for more than 18 years. Smallholding, family farm or agribusiness, we come out, see how it runs and build the policy around it.

Visits, renewals, claims and regulation

Anything else, ask the team on 01473 784500.

Will someone come and see me?

Yes. We take the time to visit you, at the farm, the yard or your home, and review your cover there. If you’d rather, we can do it by phone or email.

Are you tied to one insurer?

No. As a broker we aren’t tied to any one insurer, so we compare cover and price across a panel of specialist insurers and recommend the one that fits.

What happens when my policy is due to renew?

It never renews automatically. Before the renewal date your account manager reviews it with you, checks the market and makes sure you stay on the right cover at a competitive price.

Who handles my claim?

David Palmer, our Claims Manager, here at the barn. Call 01473 784500 or 01206 396000 and we’ll guide you through it.

Do you only insure farms?

No. Agriculture is where we started. We also insure businesses, from sole traders to companies turning over £50 million, haulage fleets around Felixstowe, Harwich and Ipswich, and private clients’ homes, collections and cars.

How is Longfields regulated?

Longfield Risk Solutions Ltd (FRN 773319) is an Appointed Representative of LRS Group Management Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 912107). You can check both on the FCA Register (opens in a new tab).
