How we can help

Advice for every chapter, at home and at work.

Personal financial advice

Joined-up advice for the decisions that matter most.

Financial questions rarely arrive one at a time. So we look at your whole picture (pensions, savings, property, family and plans) and bring it together into one clear strategy.

  • Retirement planning

Know when you can stop working, what you can afford to spend, and how to make your savings last as long as you need them to.

  • Inheritance tax planning

Pass on more of what you’ve built, with lifetime gifting, trusts and estate strategies shaped around your family.

  • Investment advice

Portfolios built around your goals and attitude to risk, monitored closely and reviewed regularly with you.

  • Pension consolidation

Bring old pensions together where it’s in your interests. Consolidating isn’t right for everyone, and you could lose valuable benefits.

  • Private client wealth management

A dedicated planner and support team for business owners, professionals and families with more complex finances.

  • Later life & care planning

Advice from SOLLA-accredited advisers on paying for long-term care and supporting the people you love in later life.

Not sure what you need? Most of our clients start with a simple conversation, and so can you.

Inheritance Tax from April 2027

From April 2027, your pension could count towards your estate.

For deaths on or after 6 April 2027, most unused pension funds and pension death benefits will be included in the value of an estate for Inheritance Tax. For many families, that could mean a larger tax bill and less for the people they want to provide for.

The good news: there’s still time to plan. A review now could change how you draw your pension, how and when you give, and how much reaches the people you love.

  • Will my estate be over the Inheritance Tax thresholds?
  • Should I change how I draw from my pension?
  • Is gifting during my lifetime right for me?
  • Are my will, trusts and pension nominations still fit for purpose?

Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances, and tax rules, rates and thresholds can change. The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate advice on wills, trusts or estate planning.

Robert E

Calm, no nonsense, knowledgeable, friendly approach. Prompt responses from my consultant to queries. Reassurance of not dealing with a one-man band or backroom-billy adviser with limited back-up and resources.

Questions

Good questions to ask a financial planner.

Can’t see yours? Call us on 01284 754500 or email our team. We’re always happy to help.

Is the first meeting really free?

Yes. Your first meeting is at our expense and there’s no obligation to go any further. It’s a chance to talk about what you want to achieve, ask questions and decide whether we’re right for you.

How much does financial advice cost?

That depends on what you need. Before any chargeable work begins, we’ll explain our charges and agree them with you, so you know what you’re paying and why.

What does “Chartered Financial Planners” mean?

Chartered status is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to firms that meet demanding standards of qualification, professionalism and ethics, and that commit to the CII’s Code of Ethics. We’ve held it every year since 2011.

Do I need a lot of money to work with you?

There’s no typical Beckett client. Some people come to us with a single pension question; others with complex family wealth or a business to plan for. Book a first meeting at our expense and we’ll tell you honestly whether, and how, we can help.

Where will we meet?

At one of our four offices, in Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Ipswich or Lowestoft. Tell us which suits you best when you get in touch.

Are you regulated?

Yes. Beckett Financial Services Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (Firm Reference Number 138104). You can check our details on the FCA Register (opens in a new tab).
