Indicative only. Friction uses Hazen-Williams for a smooth layflat or PE line (C 140) plus 10% for fittings and the suction hose, and the pump envelopes are drawn from Pioneer’s published maximum flow and head. An engineer confirms the curve, engine and NPSH before you buy or hire. Distributors and engineers can also size pumps 24/7 in FE Select.

Running Costs

Smaller Pump. More Water. Half the Fuel.

The real price of a pump is the fuel it burns. A pump that runs around the clock burns it every hour of every day, so a few litres an hour soon becomes thousands of pounds a year. That is why Pioneer matches every pump end to the smallest engine that will do the job.

A 6-Inch Pump Did a 12-Inch Pump’s Job

A competitor’s 12-inch lagoon pump was burning 840 litres a week. A Pioneer 150SL moved 20 m³/h more on half the fuel per hour, with float controls and telemetry. Pioneer estimated the saving at over 19,000 litres and £32,000 a year.

Telemetry

Every Fleet Pump Reports In

Pioneer’s own telemetry has run since 2017, and every EVO hire build carries it as standard. Check, start and adjust your pumps from your phone, wherever the site is.

  • Start, Stop and Set SpeedFrom the app or a browser, so nobody drives out at 3am.
  • Alerts Before ProblemsRunning status, fuel level and engine load alerts by SMS, app or email.
  • Location and GeofencingSee where every set is, and hear about it if one moves.
  • Fault Codes in AdvanceEngineers read the fault before they travel, so they bring the right part first time.

Questions

Straight Answers Before You Call

Still stuck? Ring sales on 01449 736777 or the hire line on 0800 707 6011.

Should I Hire or Buy a Pump?

Hire when the job has an end date or you need a pump today: you get the set, hoses, telemetry and the engineers behind it. Buy when the pump will run for years, or when you want it built to your duty and in your colours.

Not sure? Send the duty and we’ll price both.

What Do You Need From Me for a Quote?

The flow you need, the height from the water up to the pump and from the pump to the outlet, how long the discharge line is, what is in the water, where the site is and how long you need the pump. The duty point finder above collects most of it for you.

How Far Can a Surface Pump Lift Water?

A dry-prime pump can pull water up by about 8.5 m at sea level, and less at altitude or with warm water, so above 7.5 m an engineer checks the NPSH first. For deeper sumps, Pioneer’s hydraulic submersibles sit in the water and push it up instead.

Can Your Pumps Run on HVO?

Most Pioneer pumpsets can run on HVO instead of diesel, and new sets are built HVO-compatible, subject to each engine maker’s approval. Ask about your model.

Do You Have Stage V Diesel Pumps?

Yes. The EVO range has more than 40 Stage V models from 3 to 30 inches, with flows to 10,000 m³/h and heads to 260 m, to buy or hire.

Can I Watch and Control a Pump Remotely?

Yes. Pioneer telemetry lets you start, stop and change speed, track location with geofencing, read engine fault codes and get alerts by SMS, app or email. It is fitted to every EVO hire build as standard and can be added to other diesel sets.

Do You Supply Outside the UK?

Yes. From Hadleigh, Pioneer supplies customers and dealers across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Oman, and has exported to more than 30 countries.

Can You Build Pumps in Our Colours?

Yes. Pioneer builds bespoke pumps and canopies to your specification, including custom paint in your brand colours.
