No. Our advice is 100% fee-free, so there’s no broker fee to pay. Like most brokers, we’re paid commission by the insurer you choose.
A comparison site shows you prices. We give you advice. Your adviser learns about your home, compares cover across 40+ insurers, including specialist insurers that only work through brokers, and explains exactly what you’re getting before you buy.
If you’re buying with a mortgage, your lender will usually need buildings insurance in place from the day you exchange contracts. Contents cover is optional but recommended. We’ll check your lender’s requirements and make sure your cover starts on time.
Very often, yes. We regularly help with flood risk, previous subsidence, timber-frame and thatched homes, listed buildings, unoccupied homes, renovations, holiday homes and short-term lets.
It depends on your lease. Often the freeholder or managing agent insures the building, but some leases make you responsible for your own part. We’ll review what you need for free. We can’t insure reserved areas such as foundations and communal spaces.
