PSTN switch-off · 31 January 2027

The UK’s old phone network is switching off. Is your business ready?

117 days to go until analogue and ISDN lines are switched off for good

BT and Openreach are retiring analogue (PSTN) and ISDN lines across the UK, and 31 January 2027 is the final deadline. Anything still relying on them needs moving to digital first, or it could simply stop working. That isn’t just phones: card machines, alarms, lift phones and door entry are often on the same lines.

FAQs

Straight answers to fair questions.

Something we haven’t covered? Ask the people who’ll actually look after you.

02920 098000
What do you actually do for us?

We look after the technology your business runs on: phones, IT, broadband, Wi-Fi, print and energy. We do the research, compare your options and deal with the suppliers, so you get clear advice and more time to run your business.

Will switching to Linc save us money?

In most cases, yes. We start by reviewing what you have and what you pay, then look for smarter, more cost-effective options that make sense now and in the long run.

Who will we actually deal with?

A dedicated point of contact who knows your business. No call centres and no being passed around, just consistent support from our team in Penarth.

How much of our time will it take?

Very little. It usually starts with a short conversation. From there, we do the heavy lifting: planning, setup, training and rollout.

What does the 2027 switch-off mean for us?

If you still have analogue (PSTN) or ISDN lines, or equipment that uses them, such as card machines, alarms, lift phones, door entry or fax, it needs moving to digital before 31 January 2027. Our free switch-off check tells you exactly what needs to change.

Can we keep our existing phone numbers?

In almost all cases, yes. We move your existing numbers across as part of the switch, so customers can still reach you on the numbers they know.

Do you only work in South Wales?

We’re based in Penarth and work with businesses and GP practices across Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and South Wales. We also install and support systems nationwide.

Is our data secure?

Yes. Our infrastructure is UK-based, compliant and encrypted, and we can add cyber security, backup and disaster recovery to keep your business protected.

Why do clients stay with you?

Because we keep things simple, deliver on what we say and genuinely look after people. It’s why 98% of our clients stay with us, and why most of our new work comes from referrals.
