What we do

Two industries. One standard.

Building sites and busy venues have more in common than you'd think. Both run on shifts, both grind to a halt when someone doesn't show, and both need people who know the job from minute one.

Construction

On site for 07:30, with the right cards.

Labour, trades and supervision for contractors across London and the UK, from one operative for a day to a crew for a two-year job. We go deepest where the work is hardest: demolition, asbestos and scaffolding.

  • Groundwork & demolition
  • Asbestos removal
  • Scaffolding
  • Plant & lifting
  • Mechanical & electrical
  • Site management
  • Trades & labour
  • Traffic marshals

ARCA Labour Supply Member and winner of the ARCA Gold Labour Agency Award 2025. NFDC Industry Service Provider.

Hospitality

On the pass before service. On the floor before doors.

Chefs, front of house, bar and event teams for restaurants, hotels and venues, from one Saturday shift to a permanent head chef. Our consultants have worked in hospitality, so they know what a good service looks like.

  • Chefs & kitchen
  • Kitchen porters
  • Floor & venue
  • Bar & sommelier
  • Events & temporary
  • Front desk & hosts
  • Managers
  • Head & back office

Temporary shifts, temp to perm and permanent placements.

How we vet

Four marks on everyone we send.

Gold is hallmarked before it's sold, so you know exactly what you're getting. We work the same way. Nobody reaches your site or your pass without all four marks.

  1. MARK 01

    Talked trade

Every candidate talks shop with a consultant who knows the work. Many of ours have worked on site or in kitchens themselves, so we know what good sounds like.

  2. MARK 02

    Cards checked

CSCS, CPCS, NPORS, CISRS, CCDO, SMSTS and SSSTS for site roles. Food hygiene and licences for venues. Checked as current and right for the job.

  3. MARK 03

    Right to work

Identity and right to work checked before anyone's first shift, every time. With the rules reaching further down the supply chain from October 2026, that matters more than ever.

  4. MARK 04

    Briefed for you

Start time, address, who to ask for, PPE or uniform. Everyone arrives knowing what the day looks like.

"They consistently provide labour at short notice, no matter the challenge." Envirosurv, on Yell, March 2026

London's skyline has our people in it.

Since 2012 Goldmills people have worked on some of the biggest projects London has seen. Last year alone, our operatives worked 557,508 hours on more than 2,000 sites.

Our name in lights at London Stadium.

In 2022 Goldmills became a London Stadium Associate Partner, putting our name on the LED boards in front of 60,000 fans at Premier League matches, in the stadium built for London 2012.

Not bad for a business that started with two consultants. It's the same name that turns up on your site or at your pass today.

        The team

        Real people. Direct lines.

No call centre and no chatbot. The people who answer the phone know your site, know your venue and know the people we send.

Founded in 2012 by Tom Burks and Adam Bulbulia, two consultants who had built their networks from the ground up. They took what worked at bigger agencies, left what didn't, and built Goldmills around one idea: only send people you'd put your own name to. Director Gareth Molloy also sits on the board of ARCA, the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association.

        Goldmills Middle East

        The same standard, overseas.

We also recruit for construction and hospitality projects in the Middle East: permanent hires, contract crews, executive search and event teams for major developments and luxury hotels.

        FAQ

        Straight answers.

        If you're hiring

How quickly can you send someone?

We're available seven days a week and cover last-minute gaps as well as long projects. Call 020 3934 6621 and we'll tell you straight away what's possible for your start time.

What do you check before someone starts?

Everyone we send carries our four marks: we've talked trade with them, checked their cards and tickets are current and right for the role, confirmed their right to work, and briefed them on your site or venue.

Do you only work in London?

London is our heartland, but in 2025 we supplied more than 2,000 sites across the UK, from Portsmouth to the North of England. We also recruit for projects in the Middle East.

        Temporary or permanent?

Both. Single shifts, short contracts, ongoing labour, temp to perm and permanent hires, from labourers and kitchen porters to site managers and head chefs.

Do the October 2026 right to work rules affect agency staff?

From 1 October 2026, right to work checks cover more working arrangements, including workers and sub-contractors, and businesses further up a supply chain can share liability unless their contracts require proper checks.

We check every worker's identity and right to work before their first shift, and we're happy to talk you through how that's covered in our terms.

        How much does it cost?

It depends on the role, the hours and how long you need people. Tell us what you need and we'll confirm the rate before anyone starts, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

        If you're looking for work

Does it cost anything to register?

No. Registering is free, and UK law doesn't allow recruitment agencies to charge you a fee for finding you work.

Which cards and tickets do I need?

It depends on the role. Most site work needs a CSCS card, plant roles need CPCS or NPORS, scaffolding needs CISRS and demolition needs CCDO. Kitchen roles usually ask for Level 2 Food Hygiene.

Not sure? Register and we'll tell you what you need.

        What happens after I register?

A consultant reviews your details and calls you to talk through your experience and tickets. When a role fits, we call with the details: the site or venue, start time, rate and who to ask for.

        How do timesheets work?

Fill in the Goldmills timesheet for each week you work, get it signed by your supervisor and send it to us.
