    Fitting

No Fitter Needed. Just a Free Afternoon.

If you can do a jigsaw puzzle, you can lay a Duramat floor. You need a broom, a nylon mallet and, for the odd cut, a jigsaw.

    1. 1Clear and Sweep

Empty the space and sweep out the grit with a stiff broom. Small cracks and old paint can stay.

    2. 2Start at the Door

Work front to back so your best edge faces the door. Leave a 12mm gap at the walls for expansion.

    3. 3Click and Tap

Lay side to side and tap each joint home with a nylon mallet. Cut around pillars and pipes with a jigsaw.

    4. 4Ramp and Park

Clip ramps and corners onto any open edge, sweep up the offcuts and drive straight on.

    Help

Questions We Get Asked Every Day

    Still stuck? Call 01206 390 570, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

How many tiles do I need?

Each 50cm DURA tile covers a quarter of a square metre, so four tiles make a square metre. A 5 × 3m single garage takes 60 tiles, which is exactly our Garage Pack 60. For any other size, use the floor planner and it will count tiles, ramps and corners for you.

Do I need to glue the tiles down?

No. The tiles loose-lay and lock together. Adhesive is only worth thinking about where tiles sit right next to a heat source or in strong direct sunlight for long spells. If you’re unsure, give us a call.

Can I drive on them and jack a car up?

Yes. DURA tiles are rated to a 6,375kg maximum load and a 38,250kg rolling load. They’re impact resistant and stand up to oil, spills and most garage chemicals.

Will the tiles move or lift?

The interlocking edges hold the floor together without adhesive. In very hot conditions or strong direct sunlight PVC can expand, so leave the 12mm gap at the walls. For sunny spots, VentLock’s rigid polypropylene is the better choice.

Do I need to prepare the floor first?

A flat, smooth concrete floor is ideal, but the tiles cope with a little dust, grit and small changes in level, and they go straight over old paint. Fill any big dips first, as a lot of variation can make tiles bow.

Can I mix colours and finishes?

Yes. Every 50cm DURA tile comes off the same mould, so DuraTile, DuraStud and DuraTread lock together in any colour. Our mix packs let you choose your own split. VentLock and GymGuard are separate systems and don’t join to DURA tiles.

How long does delivery take, and what does it cost?

In-stock orders usually arrive within 5 to 7 working days across mainland UK. Small orders come by tracked courier and pallets by tail-lift lorry. Delivery is priced by weight, from £9.96 for small orders. See delivery rates and zones.

    Can I return tiles I don’t need?

Yes. You can return all or part of an order within 14 days of receiving it. Our returns policy explains how.

    Do you offer trade prices?

We make and sell direct, so our lowest price is already the price on the page. For large areas, custom colours or logo printing, get in touch and we’ll quote.

How do I keep the floor clean?

Sweep with a soft brush, then mop with a mild detergent or use a pressure washer. That’s it.
