Wine bistro + bottle shop + grower Champagne

France, by the glass.

Grower Champagne, more than 30 French wines by the glass and a kitchen made for sharing: cheese, charcuterie, baked Camembert and seasonal small plates. A little corner of France on George Street, in the heart of Bath.

Champagne + fromage. Great together, any time.

The house rule since 2011

Notre histoire

It all started with Champagne + cheese.

Four friends, French and Italian by birth, shared one stubborn belief: grower Champagne and good cheese are the greatest double act on earth.

In 2011, Maud, Stefano, Yann and Frank opened Champagne+Fromage in London to prove it. Comptoir+Cuisine is where the idea grew up: a bistro and bottle shop on George Street, stocked with artisan cheeses and grower Champagnes the family imports directly from small producers across France.

Expect relaxed French hospitality, a wine list built for the curious and a team who will happily talk you into one more glass.

La spécialité de la maison

Grower Champagne. Small houses, big character.

Most Champagne comes from a handful of famous houses. Ours comes from the families who grow the grapes: independent vignerons making small batches that taste of their own villages.

We import them directly and pour them by the glass, so you can try a Blanc de Blancs, a rosé and a Brut Nature side by side, or let the team match one to your cheese.

  • £14.50is all it takes for a glass of grower Champagne
  • £33for a tasting flight of three Champagnes, three styles
  • £14for Champagne cocktails, from Kir Royal to French 51
