Heat Pump Grants, October 2026

Up to £9,000 Off a Heat Pump

The government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme takes £7,500 off an air source or ground source heat pump in Wales and England. Since 21 July 2026, homes off the gas grid that are replacing oil or LPG heating can get £9,000, and that covers a lot of rural West Wales.

We're MCS certified, so we apply for the grant on your behalf and take it straight off your invoice. You never fill in a government form.

  • £7,500

Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Off an air source or ground source heat pump when you replace gas, electric or other fossil fuel heating.

  • £9,000

Off the gas grid? Replacing oil or LPG heating with an air source or ground source heat pump, from 21 July 2026.

  • 0%

Interest finance options to spread whatever a grant doesn't cover, subject to status.

Straight Answers on Other Grants

The Great British Insulation Scheme closed on 31 March 2026, and ECO4 ends on 31 December 2026 with most energy suppliers no longer taking new applications. If someone offers you a "free" upgrade, check it with us first. We'll tell you what's genuinely open to you, including when you don't qualify.

For Your Home

We Think Beyond the Boiler

Most installers sell you one product and leave. We look at how your whole home loses heat and uses power, then fix things in the right order, so every pound you spend works harder.

How A&D looks at a whole home A house drawing in three layers. One: loft and wall insulation. Two: an air source heat pump outside, a radiator and smart controls inside. Three: solar panels on the roof and a battery inside. 1 1 2 3
The three layers we look at in every home. Hover or tap a step to see where it sits.
  1. Keep the Heat In

Insulation comes first, because a heat pump or solar system works best in a home that holds on to its warmth.

Up to a quarter of a home's heat can escape through an uninsulated loft.

  2. Heat It for Less

A low-carbon heat pump, or a better boiler and smarter controls if a heat pump isn't right for your home yet.

Most heat pump installations take 2 to 4 days, and you'll have a clear timeline before we start.

  3. Make Your Own Power

Solar panels cut what you buy from the grid, and a battery stores daytime power for the evening. Together with a heat pump, they work as one system.

Solar works all year round in Wales, even on cloudy days.

For Your Business

Solar on Your Roof. Nothing to Pay Upfront.

With a solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), we design, fund, install, insure and maintain a solar system on your building. You buy the electricity it makes at a fixed rate below what you pay the grid. No capital outlay and no maintenance bills.

  1. Free Site Assessment

We survey your roof, structure and electrics, and model your daytime energy use.

  2. We Fund and Fit It

Our engineers install around your working day, with minimal disruption.

  3. You Save From Day One

You pay a fixed, lower rate for every kWh it generates. We monitor, maintain and insure it.

Who It Suits

  • Sites spending over £2,000 a month on electricity
  • 200 m² or more of usable roof
  • Factories, warehouses and logistics hubs
  • Farms and rural businesses
  • Retail, hospitality and offices
  • Sports clubs, leisure and public sector sites

Martin Kept His Feed-in Tariff and Added a Heat Pump

Martin had been told an upgrade would cost him his Feed-in Tariff payments. We designed a compliant system instead: new solar panels and battery storage, an air source heat pump in place of his ageing gas boiler, and radiators sized for low-temperature heat. We secured the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant and handled the MCS certification and Feed-in Tariff paperwork.

How It Works

The Hard Part, Handled

From the first phone call to aftercare, you deal with one team. No middlemen and no blame games.

  1. Free Survey and a Clear Plan

We look at your whole home or site, then give you a written plan: what we'd do, why it matters, what it costs and which funding applies.

  2. Funding and Paperwork, Sorted

Grant applications, MCS certification, Feed-in Tariff rules and the rest. We do the forms, so you don't have to.

  3. Installed by Our Own Team

We keep surveys and installs in-house where it matters, so the people who plan your job are accountable for it.

  4. Aftercare That Turns Up

If something isn't right, we come back and put it right. Our reviews mention call-backs the same day and within two days.

Some installers push the bare minimum to tick a grant box. We look at what will make a real difference to your home, and if a scheme isn't right for you, we'll say so and help you find another route, like 0% finance or part funding.

Left With an Unfinished Installation?

If your solar, battery or heat pump project stalled when Consumer Energy Solutions went into administration in January 2026, we can check what's been installed, review your contract and paperwork, carry out MCS and compliance checks, and give you honest options. Questions

Straight Answers

Can't see your question? Call the team on 01792 447740 and you'll get a plain-English answer.

Will a Heat Pump Keep My Home Warm in a Welsh Winter?

Yes. Modern air source heat pumps keep working in temperatures as low as minus 15°C. Before we recommend one, we do a room-by-room heat loss calculation and check whether your radiators are big enough, so the system is sized for your home.

How Much Is the Heat Pump Grant?

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme takes £7,500 off an air source or ground source heat pump. Since 21 July 2026, homes off the gas grid that are replacing oil or LPG heating can get £9,000. As an MCS certified installer, we apply for you and take the grant off your invoice.

Can I Upgrade My Solar Without Losing My Feed-in Tariff?

Often, yes, if the upgrade is designed and documented correctly. We did exactly that for Martin in Pennard: new solar, a battery and a heat pump, with his Feed-in Tariff payments kept and the paperwork handled for him.

Do You Offer Finance?

Yes. We offer flexible finance, including 0% interest options, so you can spread the cost of anything a grant doesn't cover. Finance is subject to status, and we'll explain the terms before you sign anything.

How Long Does an Installation Take?

Most heat pump installations take 2 to 4 days, depending on the property and the system. You'll get a clear timeline before any work starts.

Do I Need Planning Permission for a Heat Pump?

In most cases, no planning permission is needed for a home heat pump in Wales. We'll confirm it for your property during the survey.

What Does a Solar PPA Cost My Business?

Nothing upfront. We fund, install, insure and maintain the system, and you pay only for the electricity it generates, at a fixed rate below the grid. Agreements typically run for 15 to 25 years, and they can transfer if you sell or move.

Which Areas Do You Cover?

We install in homes across South and West Wales, including Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire, Llanelli, Bridgend and Cardiff. Our commercial solar and social housing teams work across Wales and England.

Do You Use Subcontractors?

We keep the core work in-house, from surveys to installation, so the team that plans your job is the team that's accountable for it.
